Joe Vranich helps businesses make location or relocation decisions driven by growth,
market changes, or a need to improve competitiveness by moving to a state with a more
favorable tax and regulatory climate. His clients, located throughout the United States,
range from family-owned businesses to international corporations.

He is unusual in that he serves as both Executive Coach and Location Consultant,
which equips him to integrate organizational transition issues before, during and after
the site selection process.

While being introduced on America's highest-rated cable-TV business show, "Your
World With Neil Cavuto," the host said, "Joe Vranich is a coach committed to you
and your success." He has been a repeated guest on ABC, BBC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, NBC,
and on hundreds of local broadcasts. Also, joe has testified before Congress many
times. His most recent media appearances were on KTTV News in Los Angeles and on Fox
Business News with Stuart Varney. Both interviews focused on companies leaving California
in full or in part.

An Advocate for California's 'Battered Companies'

Joe advocates that the state of California reform its business-hostile ways if it wants to retain the commercial enterprises it has and improve its ability to lure new companies. His views have been quoted in many of the state's publications including the Contra Costa Times, Fox & Hounds Daily, Long Beach Press-Telegram, Los Angeles Business Journal, North County Times, Orange County Business Journal, Orange County Register, Pasadena Star-News, Riverside Press-Enterprise, Sacramento Bee, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Francisco Examiner, San Gabriel Valley Tribune and San Jose Business Journal.

His speeches on the subject of commercial enterprises leaving high-cost California have been quoted by economic development officials, site selection experts, public officials and the news media. California Assemblyman Dan Logue said, "I wish we could hire him to work in the governor's office to redirect this ship before it washes upside down." See more at his Speaking Availability page.

National Recognition

Out-of-state publications quoting him on California's business-bashing environment include the Arizona Republic, Barron's, Business Xpansion Journal, CFO Magazine, Chicago Tribune, CNNMoney, Commercial Executive Magazine, Investor's Business Daily, Journal of Commerce, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Reuters, Supplier Global Resources, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post. His research has been cited by the American Enterprise Institute, Small Manufacturers Association of California and the Tax Foundation.

Contributing to Stability & Sound Location Choices

Joe’s contributions to business growth include assisting companies seeking to relocate their headquarters and manufacturing facilities to lower-cost states; helping a consumer-products company reduce facilities costs; and aiding the CEO of an early-stage entrepreneurial venture with communications strategies. He has helped an international equipment designer/manufacturer find an affordable way to establish a showroom in the costly New York City area and also a British-based university select a U.S. location for a new facility. In the non-profit world, he is helping to create a new national think tank to be based in Virginia.

A flavor of his relocation work can be seen in Testimonials and a representative sampling of clients, which range from corporations to family-owned enterprises and non-profit organizations, are on the Clients page.

Associates and Partners

In the early stages of a location decision, Joe often serves in a coaching role centering around Vision Development and Strategic Planning. Once goals are clarified, he serves as a consultant bringing specific knowledge and counsel to the situation. He often provides all services to smaller clients; however he relies on a team of site selection / incentives negotiators with long experience to engage in the more complex tasks associated with large facilities. These partners have worked on "the other side of the table" running state or regional economic development agencies – professionals who know how to maximize incentive offerings.

Public Relations/Crisis Communications Roles

Earlier, Joe served in Public Relations positions with Fortune 50 companies, as a corporate "Ambassador" to international customers visiting the United States, as CEO of an international trade association, and as a crisis communications spokesperson in cases that generated national and international media coverage regarding product disputes, labor strife and accidents. He served as a press spokesperson for major real estate transactions when ownership changed on the 644-mile Boston-New York-Washington rail line and all adjacent train stations and also when manufacturing facilities in New York, Ohio and Florida were sold or closed. Today, he helps clients fashion location-related statements to the news media, employees and public officials should a company not wish to have such tasks performed in house.
