The Great Unknown

It's stressful to expand a facility, relocate to a preferred community, or start a search for the best place
to locate the company's primary or satellite facility. Options are available to make the entire process easier.

Company leaders often experience angst in just considering relocation regardless of whether doing so is related to the company's growth or outright survival.  Some experience routine worry (e.g., "How much time will be required to expand our facility?") while other sense that a crisis is brewing (e.g., "How do I tell employees that we're moving?").

Questions & Concerns

Coaching sessions often begin with clients asking questions based upon personal values, concerns about families, and consideration for the well-being of others. Examples of questions:
  • I’ve considered the idea of relocating, but it all seems overwhelming to me – where do I start?
  • How do I best explain this to my employees?
  • What constitutes a fair relocation package and what constitutes a fair severance?
  • How about timing – what are the positives and the negatives in announcing “too late” or “too early.”
  • What do I say if the mayor calls, or the press?
Most executives and business owners involved in a relocation are doing the best they can to position their companies for a brighter future.

Once a decision is made to relocate or expand elsewhere, distress is alleviated as experts perform the necessary research and anonymous representation to bring about an incentives package that makes it easier to make the eventual business decision.
